Welcome to the official end of our third development cycle here at Change Code. First up, we invite you to join us on Console. Chat with us, ask questions, or just follow along as we build in public. This is a bit of a smaller update as we're tackling a number of larger items that span multiple cycles but nevertheless, let's just in!

What have we been up to?

• Much refactoring - Clean code isn't always good code, but messy code is always something to be avoided. With that in mind, we've finally gotten around to investing in cleaning up much of our existing code, focusing on readability, reusability, and a better separation of concerns.

• Legal Repository - All legal agreements for our users are now available both on our website and as a Github repository. We're a tech company so of course we had to make a repo! More importantly though, publishing our policies and terms in this manner ensures that all updates and changes are done transparently for our community.

Happy Earth Day changemakers! 🌎 It's been 4 weeks, and it's time for another update! Our goal is to make sure that every time we put out one of these updates that the information is worthwhile and directly relevant to our users and community. Seeing as we're still a (very) small team, a cadence of 3-4 weeks feels like a good fit to be certain that these updates are consistently up to the standard we've set.

What have we been up to?

• Carbon Retirement - Since our last update, Change Code has minted credits representing more than 38,000 tons of CO2 removed from the atmosphere. With minting and transfer functionality up and running, we spent a good portion of this cycle implementing retirement functionality for our carbon credits. Change Code carbon can now be minted, transferred, and retired!

• Fiat Payments - As soon as our Good Generator platform is live, those interested will be able to purchase impact assets using fiat (credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, etc.). We hope to also be able to accept stablecoins before launch, so stay tuned for that.

• Project Onboarding - To simplify the onboarding of change makers into the Good Generator platform, we've developed and integrated walkthrough forms through for projects to upload all the necessary information about their organization and impact and to begin minting their own impact tokens.

Congrats! You've discovered Change Code's first product and engineering update! We believe the importance of the problems we're working to solve demands iterative and transparent development. Every 2-4 weeks, we'll be posting tangible updates to keep you informed of what's been improved or made available to everyone in our community.

• Website Published - The first step along our journey to transform impact into an asset class is to introduce ourselves to the world. During this first cycle, we published our website to begin sharing information about Change Code and our vision.

• Carbon Asset Creation - Starting with carbon, projects and organizations can begin minting their impact assets via our Good Generator. Carbon credits can be minted, transferred, and retired (burned) all on-chain.

• Fungible and Non-Fungible Carbon - Out of the gate, the Good Generator has support for both fungible as well as non-fungible (NFTs) assets, any of which can have custom metadata added and stored via IPFS

• Carbon Project Pages - Before we can make impact assets accessible to everyone, we must first make them visible. Carbon projects working with Change Code can now publish project pages linked to each batch, enabling discoverability for their assets and impact.
